I am a girl of many opinions, as most of my friends will attest. I have some pretty clear views on life, and living, and have recently written a book about my life. Over the last four years I have gone from a state of financial well being, to abject poverty, as I embarked on my transition from male to female.
From successful businessman, to oppressed minority, it has been an interesting, if not emotional journey.
My plan is to use this blog to discuss my views on society's acceptance of diversity, as seen through the eyes of one member of life's rich pageant, who has been marginalized through ignorance, lack of understanding, and purely, and simply, hatred.
Why does today's society isolate it's most vulnerable members? Humankind has evolved through social cooperation, for the good of the whole, through acceptance of all. Is today's stigmatization of certain minority groups an aberration, or a long term trend? That choice lies in the very hands of a society who seems deeply divided over the issue.
I sincerely hope, that my words can be one voice to be heard, above the din of bigotry and hatred.
